I have Outlook on Vista 32 bit Business. Recently I have this problem where if somebody sends me an encrypted e-mail I cannot decrypt and open it.

I have been experimenting with other e-mail clients Thunderbird using digital certificates and many e-mail accounts. If the sender is an yahoo. However if Thunderbird is the e-mail client, it works OK.

But if you manually press „Choose” and really choose the certificate you want, it will change the encryption Algorithm to 3DES and now you do not have the option to change it back to AES!!

I know from the working laptop that it should be a AES algorithm it should be using, at least thats what the other machine settings are! I know that the certificate is installed correctly, cause when we want to sign an email and send it, it will do it with no problem. Hi Tommy, thanks for the reply, i take it on me and my english not being good enough to clear out the point that I DO NOT have issues sending encrypted emails, it does it just fine actually, but rather only when opening encrypted mails sent to me, that outlook cant find the certificate. Your suggestion about the certificate not being installed correctly; how can I confirm this?

Until now I have been assuming that if the certificate says it is installed in windows certificate store, with its private key installed too, then the certificate was installed!? Besides, its peculiar that outlook can sign outgoing emails just fine using that „not installed” certificate, but when opening windows 10 vysor for pc encrypted email, it can not find it? Regarding the Office Deployment Tool, could you please help me with this, downloas i have done what the guide says, but as miccrosoft as I try to install or even download the older version, the setup will fail, saying i have to check if i have a internet connection?
